Father, over the course of my life I have allowed some of my dreams, gifts, talents and abilities to die on my spiritual vine. Today and going forward, I am calling life into the dry bones of my spiritual life.

I allowed circumstances and situations to move me from Your plan for me because I couldn’t see how it was going to work. I didn’t have the money or things weren’t going my way. NO MORE!

I will no longer allow my current situation to dictate my future.  By faith I will allow Your plans, purpose and my future hope in Christ Jesus to dictate my life. I know I serve a God who is willing, able and will do the impossible to resurrect the dry bone in my life.

I am ready to pursue everything that You have for me Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Lord free me for joyful obedience. Not just today but every day of my life. I’m tired of walking down one wrong path after another. I’m sick of allowing my emotions to guide me in ways that You did not design for me.

I’m asking you to free me from guilt, shame, pride, low esteem and procrastination. Do not allow doubt, fear or uncertainty to stop me from moving forward in You and for You. Help me release my past failures and my shortcomings and embrace Your call on my life.

Father, nothing that has happened to me is more important than what You’re calling me to be and accomplish for the kingdom of God. I know it is by faith that I will please you and it is by faith that you will bless me as I work to renew my mind. Releasing the old and embracing Your word as my compass and my guide.

Do not forsake me Lord! I am working to change and I am Your handiwork in the process of being more like Your son. Let Your word work in me and change me from the inside out. In Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer for Today

February 19, 2015

Good morning Father God! Thank You for this day and the many blessings You have determined to bestow upon me today.

Please help me to have the right perspective on things. Life is short but eternity is forever. I want to work on and walk in the things that are going to follow me into eternity. I don’t want the work I do here on earth to have no heavenly gain.

Father I want to start each day with my priorities in place and a tentative plan for where I will invest my time and energy. I want my life’s focus to be about what matters to You.

Lord don’t let me be complacent or use denial and lies as excuses for not doing what You’ve purposed for me. Please clearly give me your priorities for this season of my life. Guide and direct my steps so that I may fulfill Your plan and purpose for my life. In Jesus name. Amen.

Hold On Part II

Hold On – Part II

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have because God has said, ‘Never will I leave your; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”’ Hebrews 13:5 – 6

God has told us that he will never leave us; he will always be with us. This is why we don’t have to seek after the things of the world system. We don’t have to love money, fortune or fame. We don’t have to give up our morals nor ethics in order to fit in with the world. We don’t have to go along to get along with everyone else because God the father has made us a promise; ‘I will never leave your; never will I forsake you.’

This means as children of God we can stand and fight just like the Israelites stood and fought at Jericho, using unorthodox methods by the world’s standards. Who marches around a fortified wall and sings in order to bring the wall down? Who show’s love and compassion to the people who are trying to take their jobs, their home or their car? Those who trust in God do because we know, God is with us!

We can hold on when it looks like all is lost because we have confidence that our God is not only with us, but he’s for us! We can be strong and courageous, unswerving and stout-hearted because we know that no matter what happens God is standing beside us to care for us.

Even in the most desperate or difficult times we can keep our lives free from the love of worldly things  and be content with what God has given us because we know that God will provide for all our needs according to his riches in glory through his son, Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:19).

Proverbs 19:23 says it like this: “The fear (respect) of the Lord leads to life: Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.” If we respect the truths of God; that he is with us at all times, that he will supply our needs and that no one can do anything to us that God hasn’t ordained, then we can rest untouched by trouble!

DO NOT GIVE UP NOW! God has been and will continue to be with you.  He sees what you’re going through and he’s right beside you to help you through it. This is not the time or place to give up!  Just keep your eyes fixed on Jesus because he is walking right in front of you; The Holy Spirit is leading, guiding and directing you down the correct path for you. Remember Gods’ hook, “Hold on, I’m here!”

Prayer for Today

February 13, 2015

Father, allow your glory to fill my heart today. Let your peace prevail in my life. Let your joy overflow in my home and allow your grace and mercy to cover every aspect of my life. I feel that things going on in my life are trying to overtake me, but I will open my heart and mind to your peace, joy, grace and mercy, and I will find rest for my soul.

Everything is not going the way I wanted or expected it to go but I put my trust in you. Even though I don’t understand what you are doing, I know you have my best interest at heart and are working to prefect me in Christ Jesus.

I know you have a purpose and a plan for me. I know you have placed me on this path so I can fulfill your plans. I will trust in your unfailing love for me and will walk on this path until you tell me to do something else. I will trust your peace, joy, grace and mercy to override all outside factors that are vying for my attention. I will keep my eyes stable and fixed on you, trusting you to lead me safely on my journey to fulfilling your plans for me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Prayer for Today

February 9, 2015

Father God, you alone are God!  There is no other god besides you. You alone created the heavens and the earth. You alone called forth light and separated light from darkness. You parted the water of the sky from the water of the earth. No one could have done these mighty acts except you!

You Lord God brought everything into being that have or had life. You are the only one who calls forth both destruction and deliverance and they must respond to your call. There is not another God on earth, in the heavens or under the earth. You alone are God!

We, your children, have allowed the world system to teach us to set up things in the earthly realm as our idols. Things made of clay, steel, plastic and wood. Things such as houses, home fixtures, clothes, cars, jobs, credit and money have become idols.

People such as our children, our spouses, our parents, our church leaders and our supervisors have become idols to some of us. We are more concerned about getting their approval than we are concerned about obeying your word.

Some of us have set up intangible things as idols; earthly power, authority and fame. We can’t see or touch these things, but we think we know them when we see them.

Forgive us! It was not our intent to place another God before you. Deliver us from the evil of this world and cleanse our hearts. In Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer for Today

February 6, 2015

Father God, I know your word says that you have plans for me. Plans to do me good and give me hope and a future. But, if I’m being honest, some days I don’t like how your plans are working.

I look around and see people losing everything. I see murder and mayhem all over the land. I see heartache and hardship and wonder, “Is this really God’s plan?”

I see good people losing homes, money, jobs, etc. while the unrighteous still prosper and look for additional ways to oppress the less fortunate. Forgive me, but is this really a plan for my good? I feel like David when he said ‘“Why, O Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in the time of trouble?”’

In spite of all these things, I will trust in your unfailing love. I know that in the right season, if I don’t give up, you will bless your children with everything that is rightfully ours. Therefore, I will not weaver in my trust in you but I will stand firm and see your deliverance.

Thank you for being the kind of God I can be honest with in the times of my uncertainty, weakness or momentary despair. I will wait for you. I will be of good courage and I will allow your word to strengthen my heart. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Prayer for Today

February 5, 2015

Father God, thank you for making me the apple of your eye. I will walk in the fullness of your glory and will not fall short of the abundance you have for me. I am overwhelmed by the fact that there is nothing in my life that does not concern you. Everything; my spiritual, mental, physical, financial and emotional health are important to you. There is nothing nor no one who is more important to you than me.

The light of this truth propels me to walk into the destiny you have designed, purposed and planned for me. Knowing that nothing you have planned for me can be stopped gives me the courage to pursue what you have purposed for me.

You don’t hold my past against me and neither will I. I press forward; leaving yesterday, last month and my earlier years in my rearview mirror. I move forward to what you have for me.

Moving forward in Jesus name! Amen.

Transition Through Discomfort

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18 – 19 (NIV)

I realized that the place of my greatest discomfort is the starting point for my new beginning. When true discomfort sets in, I look for a way out. A way to change my circumstances and outcomes. I look for a way to alleviate my discomfort. This is the starting point for relieve from the old to move me to a new place.

I realized that my discomfort comes after God has been trying to move me out of my old and familiar comfort zone into something new, but I have resisted the change. I don’t always like new. I figure if it’s working why change it. But I serve a God who is not stagnate nor stale. He wants to do new things in my life so I can experience the fullness of his love, peace and joy. He wants me to move unto the fullness of his plan for me.

God knows I can’t get to or move further into my Promised Land if I stay where I am. I have to move. I have to change if I want God’s best for me.

So, after I’ve done everything I know to do and can’t find a remedy to the problem or, provide a resolution to a difficult situation, I throw up both my hands and say, “God, do it.” Right then, I have entered into a new beginning.

God’s ways are not my ways. His thoughts are not my thoughts. He’s not going to do it my way. It’s going to be a new way that leads me to new things. It’s going to be his way. My transition to new happened because of my discomfort.

Can I get an “Amen” for transitioning through discomfort?Discomfort
