Prayer for Today

Grace Moving in GOD'sJanuary 21, 2016

This year Father, as I pursue my greatness by pursuing You and Your plan for my life, there will be times people will tell me “no” when I know the answer should be “yes”. There will be times and in certain situations where I will be rejected and turned away as if I’m not good enough but, during these times I will not fret or worry because I know You are head over everything in heaven and on earth (I Chronicles 29:11 – 12).

Nothing is out of Your control; therefore, if man gives me an answer of “no” or “wait” after You’ve told me “yes”, I will continue to seek Your face and operate in Your favor until You make the necessary changes in me or in the situation (Philippians 4:19).

Father, I know You are with me at all times. You make Your face to shine upon me and You are gracious to me (Numbers 6:24 – 27). The greater that You have placed in me is greater than any power of or in the world system (I John 4:4 – 6). This is why I choose to rest in Your word, believe Your truths and work by faith (II Corinthians 5:7 and James 1:6).

Father, this year I will move and operate in greater, knowing that greater is coming! In Jesus name I pray, amen.

Refiners finer

January 19, 2015

Father, whether I want to admit it or not, I have a lot of stuff in me that does not bring You glory. Life has left me scarred and battered in so many places. I have built up walls and defense mechanisms against hurt, rejection and heartache. These walls and defense mechanisms have kept me from being truthful, honest, upright and have positioned me to not represent You in the best way.

Father, I have allowed fear, anger, a bad attitude and low esteem, among other things, to be embedded in the core of who I am. Just like when a miner pulls raw metal out of the ground and has to refine it so that it can be used for its rightful purpose, I need You to refine me so that I can be used for the purposes You have planned for me.

I know that I will have to go through a refining fire to remove my impurities but, if I want to look like Christ, I must allow You to purify me of my sins so I can be used by You. I want to be a clean and useful vessel for You. Refine me! Purify me! Use me! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Prayer for Today

Jesus in the drivers seat

January 13, 2016

Father, as I begin to make plans and set goals for myself, my family and my professional life for this year, don’t let me forget that my plans must take a backseat to the plans You have for me. Nothing I plan is going to be better for me than what You have already ordained.

I know everything is not going to go the way I want it to go, but I am sure that everything will go the way You’ve ordained it to go if I allow You to lead me. Help me to mature to the point that when what You’ve ordained overrides my plans, I do not fret, complain or grumble. Instead of complaining I rest in the knowledge that You have my best interest at heart.

You planned my perfect path long ago, and You know what’s best for me. You will improve me until I fit into Your plan for me. Thank you, Lord, for caring enough about me that You planned for my greatness in the land of the living.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Prayer for Today

I Thess 5 16

January 12, 2016

Father, as I take the time to look back over the last year, I realize I need to ask for Your forgiveness. Last year I didn’t focus on You. I didn’t focus on the goodness or the kindness You showed me every day.

I was focused on the things of this world – my financial shortfalls, the things I wanted that didn’t seem to come my way.  I focused on what I don’t have much more than I focused on the good You provided to me every day. For this, I am sorry and ask for Your forgiveness.

Lord, this year I commit to being more thankful. I will be thankful for Your love, Your goodness and Your provisions. I may not have everything I want, but You promised to supply my needs, not my greed. I may not have what I think someone else has, but I know You have my best interest at heart. I may not be able to accomplish everything I think I want to, but help me to accomplish everything You purpose me to do.

Lord, I commit to focusing on You, Your love and the mercy You show me and my family. I will purpose to be in a position of praising You for everything I have every day, and I will not complain as much this year as I did last year. I will allow Your grace and mercy to speak out of my life and into the world so that people can come to know You for themselves.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Stop and Go

January 11, 2016

Father God, this year I want to walk in Your greatness. I want You to manifest Your full power and authority over everything in my life. There are things in my life that want to hold me back from completing the assignments You purposed and planned for me; but I decree and declare that You are greater than any obstacle that may raise up against me or from within me.

Lord, I declare that You are greater than my heartaches, failures, depression, hurt feelings, pain of the past and my haters. You are greater than my anger, disappointments, doubt, shame and my shames. Yes Lord God! You surpass them all!

In 2016 I want You to manifest Your extensive power and authority over everything that would hold me back from fulfilling Your truth in my life.

I believe I walk in greatness and even greater is coming to me. Praise the name of the Lord Most High! I have expectations of greatness manifesting in my life this year. In Jesus name. Amen.

Reputation Matters

reputation-matters

So Saul said to his attendants, ‘Find someone who plays well and bring him to me.”’ “One of the servants answered, ‘I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the Lord is with him.”’ Samuel 16:17 – 18

When Saul was sickened with a mental illness caused by an evil spirit that God leveled against him, he told his attendants to start looking for someone who could play the lyre (harp) that would soothe his spirit.

One of the servants spoke up and told Saul about David. The servant said, 1. David was a gifted musician. 2. David was brave. 3. David had mastered the language. 4. He know how to carry himself and 5. God was with David. David’s reputation is what got him the interview for the job. If a leader is looking for someone with your skill set, what would your reputation say about you?

Some of us get upset because we didn’t get the promotion or recognition we think we deserve but, before we get upset, we need to examine our reputation at work, at home, in our churches and in our community.

There are some questions we need to ask ourselves:  Are you known as someone who is skilled and gifted at your work? Are you willing to take on challenges and bravely do something new? What about your attitude and how you treat other people? Can people trust you to handle yourself in an appropriate manner when you’re dealing with leaders? Do you look the part? Do people know there’s something different about you because God is with you? The answer to these questions will lead you to the answer to the big question: “What type of person am I known as?”

All these pieces go into our reputation and we need to pay attention to every facet of our reputation to ensure when our opportunity for elevation comes, we don’t block our own blessing because we’ve destroyed our reputation.

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.Proverbs 22:1

Sharing God’s Word: Motivating God’s People

January 5, 2016

I Samuel 16:12b (NIV)
Then the Lord said, ‘Rise and anoint him; he is the one.”’

Have you ever been placed in a position that no one thought you were good enough to hold? This is the place where David found himself when Samuel told Jesse, David’s father, to call David in from the field tending the sheep so he could be considered as a candidate for the position of the next King of Israel.

Seven of Jesse’s sons were presented to Samuel and all seven were rejected by God. Samuel asked “Are these all the sons you have?” and Jesse replied no, there’s still the youngest. Samuel, had to ask Jesse to send for David and, low and behold, he was the one God had chosen.

In verse 7 the Lord tells Samuel, “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Many times in our lives we may not look the part or have the education that someone else may have but when God has chosen us to fulfill His plan, nothing else matters. God doesn’t judge us the way the world judges us. God judges are heart, which means He judges our character, our intentions and our ethics.

During our journey to greater heights in Christ in 2016, we must keep in the forefront of our minds that we are the ones that God has chosen for our particular assignments. God didn’t ask anyone else if you or I were good enough, smart enough, pretty or handsome enough for our assignments. God wrote our assignments in our DNA and on our hearts before we were born.

Decided that in 2016 you will not allow what others say or do deter you from fulfilling your God given destiny of greatness. If God called you, you’re the one!

for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.”  Romans 11:29

Father, Your word says that You sent Your son Jesus to give us life and that we would have life more abundantly through Him. Too often I find myself living a life of lack of the things that really matter. I find myself living a life that lacks peace of mind, joy, contentment and peace. I find myself complaining about what I don’t have, what I didn’t get and what I can’t do, rather than thinking about and being grateful for what You’ve given me, allowed me to obtain and Your favor that rest on my life. Forgive me for taking for granted all the great and wonderful things You’ve made available to me that I don’t take advantage of on a regular basis.

Father, I will not just live, I will thrive and prosper beyond the normal. Not thriving and prosper in just material things, but thriving and prosper in the things that will make me a better person; a better child to my parents, a better parent to my children, a better husband or wife to my spouse and a better child to You.

I will prosper by reading Your word, praying to You on a regular basis, obeying Your word and being diligent in doing the things I know are right.

I will live above the fray of mediocrity. I will live with my mind on things I can do to help the world be a better place and with my mind steadfast on You. I will not live beneath my spiritual blessings, which You have provided for me through Christ Jesus. I will live in the overflow and outpouring of Your love. I will not live just getting by but I will live standing on Your promises to me, Your child. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Prayer for Today

This prayer is designed so that when we pray it, we are praying for everyone else reading this prayer. We are asking God to bless, keep, restore shelter and protect everyone else. We are praying in agreement with each other. When we do this, we are following God’s word:

Matthew 18:19 (ESV)

Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”

September 21, 2015

Heavenly Father, our most gracious and loving God, I pray asking that You would abundantly bless everyone reading this prayer and their families. Please bless them spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically and financially. They need a five-fold blessing!

Father Your word says that with the measure that we’ve measured out so shall it be measured back to us.  Your word says that as we sow so shall we also reap. Your word clearly states that if we give, it will be given unto us; in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.

Father, I ask right now that You would release spiritual, mental, emotional, physical and/or financial blessing into the homes, the hands and into the lives of everyone who is reading this prayer. You know exactly what each family needs. You are our Jehovah Jireh, our provision already met. Everything our families need has already been provided by You.

Father we are asking for the manifestation in the earth of what has already been ordained in heaven. Out of Your bounty in heaven, pour forth everything we need in accordance with Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We stand in agreement with each other and with Your word. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

Lord God, with man things are impossible but with You, nothing is impossible!

Father it seems that one thing after another keeps springing up in my life. Just when I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, BAM, all goes black again because another issue has come up. I’m shaking my head! It feels like it will never stop!

On the outside it looks impossible but nothing is impossible for You. On the surface it looks like I’ll never make it through all the obstacles that are draining my finances, swallowing up my peace of mind and attacking my joy. I am exhausted just thinking about it all!

That is why I’m bringing all my baggage to You. Father, I need Your help with
